Ticketmaster introduced on Thursday (Nov. 17) that the general public sale for tickets to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour has been cancelled.

Within the tweet, Ticketmaster cites "terribly excessive demand" and "inadequate remaining ticket stock" as the explanation for the ticket sale cancellation that was supposed to start tomorrow (Nov. 18) at 10 a.m. The will to see Swift's Eras Tour is especially excessive as its her first tour since 2018, and the pop star has launched 4 albums and re-recorded two traditional albums since then.

Verified Fan presale tickets went on sale Tuesday (Nov. 15), which resulted within the ticketing web site crashing and followers being caught within the queue for tickets for hours.

The second wave of ticket gross sales have been reserved for Capital One cardholders and went on sale yesterday after being postponed a day as a result of "historic demand" for tickets. Stay Nation chairman Greg Maffei says a reported 14 million people have been attempting to purchase tickets to the Eras Tour.

Cancelling the general public sale of tickets implies that followers who weren't chosen for a presale code and are not Capital One cardholders are unable to buy tickets, and now their destiny is within the fingers of resellers. After Verified Fan presale tickets have been posted to resale web site StubHub for hundreds of {dollars}, issues are trying dire for Swifties.

And who's to say how excessive costs will get now that the final sale of tickets was cancelled.
